Lacks or Losses Will Turn into Wealth in the Hereafter
We all have experienced losing the things we love: wealth, possessions, or status that we worked hard for years to obtain and were suddenly lost, the health and well-being that we were happy to have and lost due to illness or an accident, the family or friends whose presence would bring us peace and are no longer among us.
Perhaps we are in a situation where the world is not going our way. For example, we may not be as beautiful as we would like, or we may not have a good physique. Or despite our efforts, we do not have a proper social status or education. We may have been born into a family with many problems or with a low social status. We may not have the car or house of our dreams, and so on.
Probably the main reason for our distress in these situations is the feeling of regret, sense of loss, or deficiency that we feel as a result of lacks or losses. Maybe we feel like losers in a way. Now if we are told that all these calamities, hardships, lacks or losses are taken into account and reserved for us somewhere, how would our feelings change? Naturally, we would feel less regret or experience a lesser sense of loss, and we would accept lacks or losses as blessings more easily. But the question still remains: How can these things be considered wealth for us?
Lacks or Losses Are Our Assets
If we are not properly familiar with the different dimensions of our existence, or if we do not believe in the existence of these different dimensions, it may be difficult to distinguish what is false and what is true. However, if we accept our human dimension as the only existing truth, and if this knowledge is ingrained in us, with a little attention, we will realize that all lacks or losses are related to the lower and non-humane dimensions of our existence. For this reason, if the desirable things we lose or lack belong to the lower dimensions of our existence, they are insignificant and have no authenticity compared to the greatest human asset of our existence- the eternal truth of our being.
In other words, any loss in this world that is not related to our human dimension has an exact equivalent in the hereafter and does not disappear if we lose it. The hardships we have endured in life, the diseases we have caught, the enmities, injustices, insults, or humiliations we have suffered are all considered as reserves or wealth for us, even if we ourselves are to blame for their occurrence. Of course, this does not mean that we must not try to solve our problems and hardships. However, since this world is a world of challenges and conflicts, we always face situations that are in conflict with our desires and needs. In such conditions, all our lacks or losses are considered as reserves for our hereafter.
Why Do We Need This Wealth?
Without understanding the greatness and vastness of the hereafter or eternity where we are supposed to spend the rest of our lives, we may wonder what the function of these reserves is, or why we even need all this wealth. In fact, if the hereafter was also a small environment like the mother’s womb or we were supposed to spend a short time in it, we would not be so worried about the wealth and assets that we would need. But the truth is that we will face a hereafter that is billions of times greater than our current world, and we are supposed to live in it forever; therefore, our assets must be proportional to this greatness and endlessness.
For a better understanding of this concept, it is enough to pay attention to our behavior in different situations. Certainly, the items we pack for a one-day trip is not the same as those we pack for a month-long journey. Or we do not make the same amount of provision for a feast prepared for one person as we do for a party for one hundred people. Just as we need wealth and assets to live our lives in this world, we also need wealth in the spiritual system of the hereafter. The only thing that changes is the form and type of this wealth, based on the conditions and characteristics of the environment and the duration of our stay in it. In fact, without acquiring this wealth, our life is practically disrupted, and we will be in distress and anxiety, both in this world and in the hereafter.
It is true that our deeds have the potential to be transformed into wealth and assets for the hereafter, but it is not easy to have pure intentions and presence of heart as factors which turn our deeds into wealth. Pain, illness, lacks or losses will definitely have a lot of benefits for us. Of course, the amount of these losses, hardships, and problems will be different depending on the level of our tolerance.
In this article, we discussed hardships, losses, and undesirable conditions that may occur in the life of each of us. We stated that since these lacks or losses are not related to our human dimension, they are false and have no authenticity. But every false thing in the world has a true equivalent in the hereafter.
