Have you ever thought about how to know someone you have never met before? We usually look at his picture, ask about his characteristics, or refer to his close relatives who resemble him. But how can we know God, whom we have never seen? There is something hidden in the relationship between human beings and God that anyone can know God through knowing themselves.
In fact, the relationship between human beings and God is based on this similarity; that is, among all the creations of the universe, we are the most similar creation to God. Every creation in this world manifests a few God’s names and attributes according to its capacity. The relationship between human beings and God is determined by the extent of their capability to manifest any of God’s names and attributes. In fact, each of us is like a mirror reflecting these names and attributes as much as our capacity. This similarity doesn’t happen easily and must be acquired. We become more like our True Beloved through the amount of love and connection we have with Him, and a perfect human is one who has the greatest resemblance to Allah and is a mirror that reflects all His names and attributes.
