Probably, there have been times you faced the question “What is a human being and what distinct them from other creations?” Since our childhood, we have been noticing the differences between ourselves and the creations around us. We realized that although we are members of this world, we are not rocks, gems, or metals. We grow, but we are not plants. We have social lives, get married and form families, but we are not animals. In fact, we are a creation that shares many similarities with other creations, but is not the same as any of them. It is true that we have partial knowledge of our characteristics and qualities, but if someone asks us what a human being is, we are not able to give a correct definition of ourselves.
The problem is that we cannot determine our worth and value unless we know what a human being is. We may never become aware of the dimensions and faculties that have formed our existence. We may not understand why we have been called the noblest creation , what distincts us from other creations, and how it brings us closer to the purpose of our creation. If we do not know what a human being is, we will spend a lifetime on things that not only will not bring us bliss and peace but also will lead to our downfall and the loss of our only capital, i.e., our life. In this series of lessons of the School of Humanology, we aim to define what a human being is and become familiar with the dimensions and faculties that make up our existence so that we can properly follow the path that leads us to the truth of our creation.
