یَا خَیْرَ مَنْ سُئِلَ، وَیَا أَكرَمَ مَنْ قُصِدَ
O Best of those who are asked, and O Most Generous of those to whom one turns!
عَبِیدُكَ الْعَرَبُ إِذَا اسْتَجَارَ مُسْتَجِیرٌ بِأَطْنَابِ بُیُوتِهَا أَجَارُوهُ
Your Arab servants are such that when a refugee seeks shelter in their tents, they grant him protection.
وَأَنْتَ یَا خَالِقَ الْعَرَبِ وَالْعَجَمِ، قَدِ اسْتَجَرْتُ بِبَابِكَ، وَنَزَلْتُ بِفِنَائِكَ
O Creator of Arabs and non-Arabs, I come to You for refuge, humbling myself at Your doorstep.
فَلَا تَرُدَّنِي مِنْ بَابِكَ خَائِباً، وَلَا تَطْرُدْنِي مِنْ فِنَائِكَ آیِساً
So do not turn me away from Your door disappointed, and do not drive me from Your courtyard in despair.
یَا عَظِیمَ الْخَطَرِ، یَا لَطِیفَ الْخَبَرِ، یَا إِلَهَ الْبَشَرِ
O You whose status is truly great, O You whose kindness is renowned, O Beloved of all humankind,
مِنْكَ أَطْلُبُ، وَإِلَیْكَ أَهْرُبُ، عَجِّلْ بِالْفَرَجِ
I ask only of you, and to You I flee—hasten my relief!
یَا وَدُودُ، یَا ذَاالْعَرْشِ الْمَجِیدِ، یَا مُبْدِئُ یَامُعِیدُ، یَا فَعَّالاً لِمَا یُرِیدُ
O Most Compassionate, O Owner of the Glorious Throne, O Originator, O Restorer, O Doer of whatever He wills.
أَسْأَلُكَ بِنُورِ وَجْهِكَ الَّذِي أَضَاءَ لَهُ أَرْكَانُ عَرْشِكَ
I ask You by the light of Your Pure Essence, which illuminated the pillars of Your Throne,
وَبِقُدْرَتِكَ الَّتِي مَلَأْتَ بِهَا عِبَادَكَ، وَبِرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتِي وَسِعَتْ كُلَّ شَيْءٍ
And by Your Power that encompasses Your servants, and by Your Mercy which encompasses all things—
یَا إِلَهِي أَغِثْنِي، یَا مُغِیثُ أَغِثْنِي
O my God, help me! O Helper, come to my aid!
