سَلَامٌ عَلَى آلِ يس
Salutation upon Aali Yaasin (the family of the Prophet).
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا دَاعِيَ اللّٰهِ وَرَبَّانِيَّ آيَاتِهِ
Salutation upon you, O caller to Allah and the knowledgeable mentor to His verses
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَابَ اللّٰهِ وَدَيَّانَ دِينِهِ
Salutation upon you, O gate of Allah (the channel for connecting creation to Truth) and O guardian and the judge of His religion.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا خَلِيفَةَ اللّٰهِ وَنَاصِرَ حَقِّهِ
Salutation upon you, O deputy of Allah and the supporter of His truth.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا حُجَّةَ اللّٰهِ وَدَلِيلَ إِرَادَتِهِ
Salutation upon you, O proof of Allah and the guide towardHis will.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا تَالِيَ كِتَابِ اللّٰهِ وَتَرْجُمَانَهُ
Salutation upon you, O reciter of Allah’s Book and its interpreter.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فِي آنَاءِ لَيْلِكَ وَأَطْرَافِ نَهَارِكَ
Salutation upon you in every moment of your night and day.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا بَقِيَّةَ اللّٰهِ فِي أَرْضِهِ
Salutation upon you, O remnant of Allah on His earth.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا مِيثَاقَ اللّٰهِ الَّذِي أَخَذَهُ وَوَكَّدَهُ
Salutation upon you, O covenant of Allah which He solemnly made and upheld.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ يَا وَعْدَ اللّٰهِ الَّذِي ضَمِنَهُ
Salutation upon you, O promise of Allah which He guaranteed.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْعَلَمُ الْمَنْصُوبُ، وَالْعِلْمُ الْمَصْبُوبُ
Salutation upon you, Omaster of the raised banner and overflowing knowledge,
والْغَوْثُ وَالرَّحْمَةُ الْوَاسِعَةُ وَعْداً غَيْرَ مَكْذُوبٍ
the succor and vast mercy, a promise never false.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقُومُ، السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْعُدُ
Salutation upon you when you rise, and when you sit.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَقْرَأُ وَتُبَيِّنُ
Salutation upon you when you recite and clarify.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصَلِّي وَتَقْنُتُ
Salutation upon you when you perform the prayer and recite the qunoot (of the prayer).
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تَرْكَعُ وَتَسْجُدُ
Salutation upon you when you bow down and prostrate.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُهَلِّلُ وَتُكَبِّرُ
Salutation upon you when you declare His oneness (there is no god but Allah) and glorify Him (when you proclaim Allah is the Greatest).
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِين تَحْمَدُ وَتَسْتَغْفِرُ؛
Salutation upon you when you praise Allah and seek His forgiveness.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ حِينَ تُصْبِحُ وَتُمْسِي
Salutation upon you at dawn and dusk.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ فِي اللَّيْلِ إِذَا يَغْشَى وَالنَّهارِ إِذَا تَجَلَّى
Salutation upon you in the night when it darkens and the day when it brightens.
السَّلامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْإِمَامُ الْمَأْمُونُ
Salutation upon you, O trusted Imam.
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ أَيُّهَا الْمُقَدَّمُ الْمَأْمُولُ
Salutation upon you, O awaited Leader, the desired
السَّلَامُ عَلَيْكَ بِجَوامِعِ السَّلَامِ
Salutation upon you-salutations without end.
أُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ أَنِّي أَشْهَدُ
I call you as my witness, O my Master, that I testify:
أَنْ لَا إِلٰهَ إِلَّا اللّٰهُ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ
There is no god but Allah, alone without any partner,
وَأَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُهُ وَرَسُولُهُ لَا حَبِيبَ إِلَّا هُوَ وَأَهْلُهُ
and that Muhammad is His servant and Messenger, there is no beloved except him and his family.
وَأُشْهِدُكَ يَا مَوْلَايَ
I call you as my witness, O my Master, that:
أَنَّ عَلِيّاً أَمِيرَ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ حُجَّتُهُ
Ali, the Commander of the Faithful, is His proof,
وَالْحَسَنَ حُجَّتُهُ، وَالْحُسَيْنَ حُجَّتُهُ، وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ الْحُسَيْنِ حُجَّتُهُ
And Hassan is His proof, and Hussain is His proof, and Ali ibn Husain is His proof,
وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ، وَجَعْفَرَ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ، وَمُوسَى بْنَ جَعْفَرٍ حُجَّتُهُ
And Muhammad ibn Ali is His proof, and Jafar ibn Muhammad is His proof, and Musa ibn Jafar is His proof,
وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُوسَى حُجَّتُهُ، وَمُحَمَّدَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ، وَعَلِيَّ بْنَ مُحَمَّدٍ حُجَّتُهُ، وَالْحَسَنَ بْنَ عَلِيٍّ حُجَّتُهُ
And Ali ibn Musa is His proof, and Muhammad ibn Ali is His proof, and Ali ibn Muhammad is His proof, and Hassan ibn Ali is His proof.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّكَ حُجَّةُ اللّٰهِ
And I testify that you are the proof of Allah.
أَنْتُمُ الْأَوَّلُ وَالْآخِرُ؛ وَأَنَّ رَجْعَتَكُمْ حَقٌّ لَا رَيْبَ فِيهَا
You are the First and the Last, and your return is true, without doubt,
يَوْمَ ﴿لَا يَنْفَعُ نَفْساً إِيمانُها لَمْ تَكُنْ آمَنَتْ مِنْ قَبْلُ أَوْ كَسَبَتْ فِي إِيمَانِها خَيْراً﴾
on the day when “its faith shall not profit a soul which did not believe before, or earn good through its faith.”
وَأَنَّ الْمَوْتَ حَقٌّ، وَأَنَّ نَاكِراً وَنَكِيراً حَقٌّ
I bear witness that death is truth, and that Nakir and Munkar (the questioning angels in the grave) are truth.
وَأَشْهَدُ أَنَّ النَّشْرَ حَقٌّ، وَالْبَعْثَ حَقٌّ
I bear witness that coming out of the grave is truth, and resurrection is truth
وَأَنَّ الصِّرَاطَ حَقٌّ، وَالْمِرْصَادَ حَقٌّ، وَالْمِيزَانَ حَقٌّ، وَالْحَشْرَ حَقٌّ
that the bridge (Sirat) is truth, the watchtower (Mirsad) is truth, the scale (Mizan) is truth, and the gathering (Hashr) is truth,
وَالْحِسَابَ حَقٌّ، وَالْجَنَّةَ وَالنَّارَ حَقٌّ، وَالْوَعْدَ وَالْوَعِيدَ بِهِمَا حَقٌّ
that the reckoning is truth, and Heaven and Hell are truth, and the promise and warning of both are truth.
يَا مَوْلَايَ شَقِيَ مَنْ خَالَفَكُمْ، وَسَعِدَ مَنْ أَطَاعَكُمْ
O my Master! Wretched is the one who has opposed you, fortunate is the one who has obeyed you.
فَاشْهَدْ عَلَى مَا أَشْهَدْتُكَ عَلَيْهِ وَأَنَا وَلِيٌّ لَكَ بَرِيءٌ مِنْ عَدُوِّكَ
You be a witness to all that I have testified; I have made you a witness that I am verily a friend and follower of you, denouncing your enemy.
فَالْحَقُّ مَا رَضِيتُمُوهُ، وَالْبَاطِلُ مَا سَخِطْتُمُوهُ [اَسْخَطْتُموُهُ]
Truth is what pleases you, falsehood is what displeases you.
وَالْمَعْرُوفُ مَا أَمَرْتُمْ بِهِ، وَالْمُنْكَرُ مَا نَهَيْتُمْ عَنْهُ،
And good is what you command, evil is what you forbid
فَنَفْسِي مُؤْمِنَةٌ بِاللّٰهِ وَحْدَهُ لَا شَرِيكَ لَهُ وَبِرَسُولِهِ وَبِأَمِيرِ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ وَبِكُمْ يَا مَوْلايَ أَوَّلِكُمْ وَآخِرِكُمْ
I believe in Allah, the One, without partner, and in His Messenger, in Amir al-Muminin (Imam Ali), and in you, O my Master, all from the first and the last
وَنُصْرَتِي مُعَدَّةٌ لَكُمْ، وَمَوَدَّتِي خَالِصَةٌ لَكُمْ، آمِينَ آمِينَ
My support is pledged to you; my companionship is pure for you. Ameen, Ameen!
And after that, this Supplication is recited:
اللّٰهُمَّ إِنِّي أَسْأَلُكَ أَنْ تُصَلِّيَ عَلَى مُحَمَّدٍ نَبِيِّ رَحْمَتِكَ، وَكَلِمَةِ نُورِكَ
O Allah! Send blessings upon Muhammad, the Prophet of Your Mercy and the Word of Your Light.
وَأَنْ تَمْلَأَ قَلْبِي نُورَ الْيَقِينِ، وَصَدْرِي نُورَ الْإِيمَانِ
Fill my heart with the light of certainty, my chest with the light of faith
وَفِكْرِي نُورَ النِّيَّاتِ، وَعَزْمِي نُورَ الْعِلْمِ
My thoughts with the light of sincerity, my resolve with the light of knowledge,
وَقُوَّتِي نُورَ الْعَمَلِ، وَ لِسَانِي نُورَ الصِّدْقِ
My strength with the light of action, my tongue with the light of truth,
وَدِينِي نُورَ الْبَصَائِرِ مِنْ عِنْدِكَ، وَبَصَرِي نُورَ الضِّيَاءِ
My religion with the light of insight from You, my sight with light and brightness
وَسَمْعِي نُورَ الْحِكْمَةِ، وَمَوَدَّتِي نُورَ الْمُوالَاةِ لِمُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ
My hearing with the light of wisdom, and my love with the light of devotion to Muhammad and his family (Peace be upon them),
حَتَّى أَلْقَاكَ وَقَدْ وَفَيْتُ بِعَهْدِكَ وَمِيثَاقِكَ فَتُغَشِّيَنِي رَحْمَتَكَ يَا وَلِيُّ يَا حَمِيدُ
Until I meet You, having fulfilled Your covenant, so envelop me in Your mercy, O Guardian (Wali), O Praiseworthy (Hamid)!
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى حُجَّتِكَ فِي أَرْضِكَ، وَخَلِيفَتِكَ فِي بِلَادِكَ
O Allah! Bless Your proof upon the earth, Your deputy in the lands
وَالدَّاعِي إِلَى سَبِيلِكَ، وَالْقَائِمِ بِقِسْطِكَ، وَالثَّائِرِ بِأَمْرِكَ
The caller to Your Path, the establisher of Your Justice, the riser by Your Command,
وَلِيِّ الْمُؤْمِنِينَ، وَبَوَارِ الْكَافِرِينَ
The guardian of Believers, the crusher of Disbelievers,
وَمُجَلِّي الظُّلْمَةِ، وَمُنِيرِ الْحَقِّ
The dispeller of darkness, the illuminator of truth,
وَالنَّاطِقِ بِالْحِكْمَةِ وَالصِّدْقِ، وَكَلِمَتِكَ التَّامَّةِ فِي أَرْضِكَ
The speaker of wisdom and truth, Your perfect word upon the earth,
الْمُرْتَقِبِ الْخَائِفِ، وَالْوَلِيِّ النَّاصِحِ؛
The awaited one in fear, the benevolent guardian,
سَفِينَةِ النَّجَاةِ، وَعَلَمِ الْهُدَى، وَنُورِ أَبْصَارِ الْوَرَى
The ark of salvation, the banner of guidance, the light for the eyes of creation,
وَخَيْرِ مَنْ تَقَمَّصَ وَارْتَدَى، وَمُجَلِّي الْعَمَى
The best of those who wear the mantle (of leadership), the remover of blindness,
الَّذِي يَمْلَأُ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلاً وَقِسْطاً كَمَا مُلِئَتْ ظُلْماً وَجَوْراً
He who will fill the earth with justice as it was filled with oppression.
إِنَّكَ عَلَى كُلِّ شَيْءٍ قَدِيرٌ
Truly, You have power over all things.
اللّٰهُمَّ صَلِّ عَلَى وَلِيِّكَ وَابْنِ أَوْلِيَائِكَ الَّذِينَ فَرَضْتَ طَاعَتَهُمْ، وَأَوْجَبْتَ حَقَّهُمْ، وَأَذْهَبْتَ عَنْهُمُ الرِّجْسَ، وَطَهَّرْتَهُمْ تَطْهِيراً
O Allah! Send blessings upon Your guardian (wali) and the son of Your guardian (wali). One whose obedience You made incumbent and rights obligatory; You removed all impurities from him and thoroughly purified him.
اللّٰهُمَّ انْصُرْهُ وَانْتَصِرْ بِهِ لِدِينِكَ
O Allah! Help him and by him help Your religion.
وَانْصُرْ بِهِ أَوْلِيَاءَكَ وَأَوْلِيَاءَهُ وَشِيعَتَهُ وَأَنْصَارَهُ وَاجْعَلْنَا مِنْهُمْ
And thereby help Your friends, his friends, his Shias, and his helpers and include us among them.
اللّٰهُمَّ أَعِذْهُ مِنْ شَرِّ كُلِّ بَاغٍ وَطَاغٍ، وَمِنْ شَرِّ جَمِيعِ خَلْقِكَ
Protect him from every tyrant and oppressor, and from mischief of all Your creation.
وَاحْفَظْهُ مِنْ بَيْنِ يَدَيْهِ وَمِنْ خَلْفِهِ وَعَنْ يَمِينِهِ وَعَنْ شِمَالِهِ
Guard him from front and back, right and left.
وَاحْرُسْهُ وَامْنَعْهُ مِنْ أَنْ يُوصَلَ إِلَيْهِ بِسُوءٍ
And protect him and grant security to him from every calamity.
وَاحْفَظْ فِيهِ رَسُولَكَ وَآلَ رَسُولِكَ؛
And through him protect Your Messenger and the Family of Your Messenger.
وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ الْعَدْلَ، وَأَيِّدْهُ بِالنَّصْرِ
Through him, manifest justice, support him with triumph.
وَانْصُرْ نَاصِرِيهِ، وَاخْذُلْ خَاذِلِيهِ
Aid his helpers, degrade his opponents.
وَاقْصِمْ قَاصِمِيهِ، وَاقْصِمْ بِهِ جَبَابِرَةَ الْكُفْرِ
Crush his oppressors, and through him, break the arrogant disbelievers.
وَاقْتُلْ بِهِ الْكُفَّارَ وَالْمُنَافِقِينَ وَجَمِيعَ الْمُلْحِدِينَ حَيْثُ كَانُوا مِنْ مَشَارِقِ الْأَرْضِ وَمَغَارِبِهَا، بَرِّهَا وَبَحْرِهَا
Destroy by him the disbelievers, the hypocrites, and atheists, whether they are from the east or the west, from the land or the sea.
وَامْلَأْ بِهِ الْأَرْضَ عَدْلاً، وَأَظْهِرْ بِهِ دِينَ نَبِيِّكَ صَلَّى اللّٰهُ عَلَيْهِ وآلِهِ
Fill the earth with justice through him, and elevate the religion of Your Prophet (Peace upon him and his family).
وَاجْعَلْنِي اللّٰهُمَّ مِنْ أَنْصَارِهِ وَأَعْوَانِهِ وَأَتْبَاعِهِ وَشِيعَتِهِ
O Allah! Make me among his companions, assistants, followers, and Shias.
وَأَرِنِي فِي آلِ مُحَمَّدٍ عَلَيْهِمُ السَّلَامُ مَا يَأْمُلُونَ، وَفِي عَدُوِّهِمْ مَا يَحْذَرُونَ
And show me all that the Family of Muhammad (Peace upon them) are eager for, and for their enemies, all that they are warned against.
إِلٰهَ الْحَقِّ آمِينَ، يَا ذَا الْجَلَالِ وَالْإِكْرَامِ يَا أَرْحَمَ الرَّاحِمِينَ
O true Beloved! Ameen! O Lord of Majesty and Honor! O Most Merciful of the Merciful!
