Every Moment of Our Lifetime Is Equivalent to Thousands of Years in the Hereafter.
In the material world, the issue of the limited life of creatures is completely obvious and accepted. For example, the lifespan of plants and many animals is much shorter than that of humans, or there are species that live longer than humans, but whether it is a few months, tens of years, or a few centuries, the life of all creatures will end one day. Even the light and heat of the sun will eventually end up in coldness and darkness. Humankind also has a limited life in this world, and eventually one day his life will end.
Time, moments, and lifetime are passing with each inhale and exhale and do not stop. They are investments that cannot be compensated for if lost. To give a short definition of the word time, time refers to hours, minutes, seconds and moments of life, and also the passing of these seconds and moments. Our lifetime passes so quickly that we usually do not notice it passing. It is unbelievable that with each night’s sleep, we lose a day of our limited lifetime and get closer to the end of this precious asset. Our lifetime is an opportunity that is given to us only once, and it is limited. The greatest art of life is to use the unique opportunities that we have in front of us. That is the alchemy of happiness that only successful and victorious people and great men of history have achieved.
We may have heard many interpretations about the end of human life and death, but one of the most comprehensive interpretations is that “Every breath we take is a step towards death.”[1] Therefore, the correct use of our lifetime, which is considered an unrepeatable blessing, can bring our worldly life to the peak of peace and our afterlife to the abode of comfort.
In this article, we are going to look at the lifetime of the fetus in the mother’s womb. We will know how we can make the most of our lifetime like a fetus that makes the most of his in the mother’s womb during nine months. Based on the proportion between the life of the fetus in the mother’s womb and life in this world, we will come to understand the proportion between life in this world and life in the hereafter. So if you are also worried about the moments of your life and are eager to make the most of your lifetime in this world and the hereafter, we invite you to continue reading this article.
The Short Lifetime of the Fetus
We all know very well that the life of a fetus in the mother’s womb is short. It does not last more than nine months from the time the sperm is formed, to the birth of the baby. During this period, the fetus should grow and develop sufficiently and acquire all the necessary organs for his life in the world so that he does not have any defects in the world. The moment the sperm is placed in the secure place (mother’s womb), it begins to prepare and equip itself for the life of the world. The slightest inattention by the mother to the fetus in the womb such as insufficient nourishment, neglecting proper movements, catching communicable diseases, the use of harmful food, etc. can cause the fetus to lose the opportunity to develop organs or acquire the necessary assets. It means an opportunity that is irrecoverable and irretrievable.
On the other hand, according to the mathematics of creation, nothing has been created without measure or limit; everything has a measure.[2] The fetus spends nine months acquiring and making parts and organs. He develops in the womb to prepare himself to live for about 70 or 80 years in the world.
Although the transfer of the fetus from the mother’s womb to the world does not take more than a few seconds and there is no change in location during birth, the biological conditions of the fetus change completely with this birth. The fetus should use everything he has brought from his mother’s womb to have a good and happy life. The departure from the mother’s womb and transfer to the world is very sweet for the people around, but it means the end of the opportunity for the fetus. Birth and entering the world for a fetus that has not been prepared to live in this complex and advanced world can be very dangerous and accompanied by great pain and regret.
Limited Worldly Life, an Opportunity to Prepare Ourselves and Acquire Assets
All of us have some potential capacities and abilities that we must actualize during our lifetime in the world. In fact, no other condition can actualize and develop these abilities better than the womb of the world. During our lifetime, we are given the opportunity to cultivate and develop our potentials with correct self-knowledge and using God’s blessings. Therefore, during the brief few years of this worldly life, we should spend all our energy to acquire and make tools that will be useful for us in the unlimited world of the hereafter. Worldly perfections, boredom, laziness, aimlessness and lack of planning, fantasies, and vain wishes should not make us forget the ultimate purpose of our creation.
If our decisions, relationships, behaviors, and thoughts are correct, we will know our true worth and we will not undersell ourselves in the worldly market. As a result, we make proper use of our lifetime and will not have future regrets. We must pay attention to our transient lifetime, the fleeting moments of life, and the undeniable truth that what is past is past. The strength and vigor of youth, leisure, vitality, and health are all opportunities that pass quickly and never return. If we know that the most valuable asset in life consists of these precious, non-recurring moments within our reach, we will try to use it in the best way for our hereafter.
Of course, just as the fetus does not understand the vastness and quality of the world before leaving the mother’s womb, we will not understand the extent of eternal life until we die from this world. In fact, we do not realize that the whole life of this world is no more than a moment compared to the hereafter. In order to enter the hereafter, we must acquire the attributes and tools suitable for Barzakh, the Malakut, and the resurrection, and this is only possible through what we have acquired in this world.
Unlimited Lifetime in the Hereafter and Eternal Life
Our death from this world is immediately followed by our entry into the hereafter. Since that realm is an infinitely more beautiful, perfect, magnificent, complex, and advanced world, we definitely need a lot of equipment that we must prepare in the womb of this world; otherwise, we will have a weak or defective birth into the hereafter. Just like a fetus that has not prepared himself to live in the world and it is very difficult or impossible for him to compensate for this weakness.
The lifetime given to us is like a farm to plant and harvest what we will need in the hereafter. If we spend our life in the path of goodness and happiness, we will have a flourishing and prosperous farm in the hereafter. We have no understanding of our nine months in the mother’s womb and we only know that we spent some time there. After moving to the hereafter, we only know that we have been in this world for a short time because our worldly life is very limited compared to eternity and does not count at all.
In this article, we discussed our lifetime opportunity to acquire equipment in the mother’s womb. We learned that considering the duration of the fetal life in comparison to the human lifetime in this world, the time we spend in this world is short and fleeting compared to the hereafter.
How do you spend your lifetime? We are waiting for your valuable comments regarding this article.
