يَا مَنْ ذِكْرُەُ شَرَفٌ لِلذَّاكِرِينَ، وَيَا مَنْ شُكْرُەُ فَوْزٌ لِلشَّاكِرِينَ
O You whose remembrance is an honor for those who remember You, O You whose gratitude is success for those who give thanks to You,
وَيَا مَنْ طَاعَتُهُ نَجَاةٌ لِلْمُطِيعِینَ، صَلِّ عَلیَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
O You whose obedience is salvation for those who obey You; Send Your blessings upon Muhammad and his family.
وَاشْغَلْ قُلُوبَنَا بِذِكْرِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ ذِكْرٍ
Engage our hearts in Your remembrance, keeping them away from every other remembrance;
وَأَلْسِنَتَنَا بِشُكْرِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ شُكْرٍ
Make our tongues fluent in Your gratitude, turning them away from all other thanks
وَجَوَارِحَنَا بِطَاعَتِكَ عَنْ كُلِّ طَاعَةٍ
And engage our limbs in Your obedience, diverting them from every other obedience.
فَإِنْ قَدَّرْتَ لَنَا فَرَاغاً مِنْ شُغْلٍ، فَاجْعَلْهُ فَرَاغَ سَلَامَةٍ لَاتُدْرِكُنَا فِيهِ تَبِعَةٌ، وَلَا تَلْحَقُنَا فِيهِ سَأْمَةٌ
And if You decree for us a period of leisure from our occupations, make it a leisure of safety, where no sin overtakes us, and no weariness befalls us,
حَتَّى يَنْصَرِفَ عَنَّا كُتَّابُ السَّيِّئَاتِ بِصَحِيفَةٍ خَالِيَةٍ مِنْ ذِكْرِ سَيِّئَاتِنَا
So that the scribes of misdeeds may depart from us with a record empty of mention of our sins,
وَيَتَوَلَّی كُتَّابُ الْحَسَنَاتِ عَنَّا مَسْـرُوريِنَ بِـمَا كَتَبُوا مِنْ حَسَنَاتِنَا
And the scribes of good deeds may leave us pleased with what they have recorded of our good deeds.
وَإِذَا انْقَضَتْ أَيَّامُ حَيَاتِنَا، وَتَصَـرَّمَتْ مُدَدُ أَعْمَارِنَا
Then when the days of our lives come to an end, and the terms of our lifespans expire,
وَاسْتَحْضَـرَتْنَا دَعْوَتُكَ الَّتِي لَابُدَّ مِنْهَا وَمِنْ إِجَابَتِهَا، فَصَلِّ عَلیَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِهِ
And Your inevitable call summons us, send blessings upon Muhammad and his family,
وَاجْعَلْ خِتَامَ مَا تُحْصِي عَلَيْنَا كَتَبَةُ أَعْمَالِنَا تَوْبَةً مَقْبُولَةً
And seal the record of our deeds with an accepted repentance,
لَا تُوقِفْنَا بَعْدَهَا عَلیَ ذَنْبٍ اجْتَرَحْنَاهُ وَلَا مَعْصِيَةٍ اقْتَـرَفْنَاهَا
So that afterward, You will not call us to account for any sin we have committed, Or any disobedience we have perpetrated,
وَلَا تَكْشِفْ عَنَّا سِتْراً سَتَرْتَهُ عَلیَ رُؤُوسِ الْأَشْهَادِ، يَوْمَ تَبْلُو أَخْبَارَ عِبَادِكَ
Do not tear away from us veils You have placed over the witnesses, on the Day when You unveil the secrets of Your servants.
إِنَّكَ رَحِيمٌ بِمَنْ دَعَاكَ، وَمُسْتَجِيبٌ لِمَنْ نَادَاكَ
Indeed, You are Merciful to those who call upon You, and You respond to those who cry out to You.
