Supplication 76: When His Sustenance (Rizq) Became Constrained

O Allah! You have tried us in our provision with doubt and lack of certainty,
and in our lifespans with long and distant hopes,

to the point that we began seeking Your provision from those who are themselves provided for,

and we placed our hopes in the long lifespans of those who live long.

So send blessings upon Muhammad and his family, and grant us such true certainty that will spare us from the burden of constant seeking,

And instill in our hearts such pure and untainted assurance that through it, You free us from the hardships and struggles of efforts and endeavors.

And let what You have clearly promised in Your revelation, and what You have confirmed with Your oath in Your Book, be sufficient to remove our worry about the provision You have guaranteed,

and put an end to our preoccupation with what You have assured sufficiency for.

For You said — and Your word is the truest truth — and You swore — and Your oath is the most just and the most fulfilled:

“And in the heavens is your sustenance and that which you are promised.”
(Quran 51:22)
