بِسْمِ اللّٰهِ الرَّحْمٰنِ الرَّحیٖمِ
یٰا حَیُّ قَبْلَ کُلِّ حَیٍّ، یٰا حَیُّ بَعْدَ کُلِّ حَیٍّ، یٰا حَیُّ مَعَ کُلِّ حَیٍّ، یٰا حَیُّ حِینَ لاٰ حَیَّ، یٰا حَیُّ یَبْقىٰ وَیَفْنىٰ کُلُّ حَیٍّ، یٰا حَیُّ لاٰ اِلٰهَ اِلّٰا اَنْتَ، یٰا حَیُّ یٰا کَرِیمُ، یٰا مُحْیِیَ الْمَوْتیٰ، یٰا قٰائِمُ عَلیٰ کُلِّ نَفْسٍ بِـمٰا کَسَبَتْ
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
O Ever-Living One before all living things!
O Ever-Living One, after all living things!
O Ever-Living One, alongside all living things!
O Ever-Living One when there is no living thing!
O Ever-Living One who remains while all living things perish!
O Ever-Living One, there is no god except You!
O Ever-Living One, O the Most Generous, O Reviver of the dead!
O Overseer of every soul for what it has earned!
اِنّیٖ اَتَوَجَّهُ اِلَیْكَ، وَاَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَیْكَ، وَاَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَیْكَ بِجُودِكَ وَکَرَمِكَ وَرَحْمَتِكَ الَّتیٖ وَسَعَتْ کُلَّ شَیْءٍ، وَاَتَوَجَّهُ اِلَیْكَ وَاَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَیْكَ بِحُرْمَةِ هٰذَا الْقُرْآنِ، وَبِحُرْمَةِ الْاِسْلاٰمِ، وَشَهٰادَةِ اَنْ لاٰ اِلٰهَ اِلّٰا اَنْتَ َوحْدَكَ لاٰشَـرِیكَ لَكَ، وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّداً عَبْدُكَ وَرَسُولُكَ
I turn to You,
I appeal to You,
I seek nearness to You through Your extreme generosity and grace, and Your all-encompassing mercy.
I turn to and appeal to You by the sanctity of the Quran and Islam
And the testimony that there is no god but You,
Alone, without partner,
And I testify that Muhammad is Your servant and messenger.
وَاَتَوَجَّهُ اِلَیْكَ وَاَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَیْكَ وَاَسْتَشْفِعُ اِلَیْكَ بِنَبِیِّكَ نَبِیِّ الرَّحْمَةِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَآلِهِ وَسَلَّمَ تَسْلِیماً. وَبِاَمِیرِالْمُؤْمِنِینَ عَلیِّ بْنِ اَبِی طٰالِبٍ، وَفَاطِمَةَ الزَّهْرٰاءِ، وَالْحَسَنِ وَالْحُسَیْنِ عَبْدَیْكَ وَاَمِینَیْكَ، وَحُجَّتَیْكَ عَلَی الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِینَ
And I turn to You, I appeal to You, and I seek Your intercession through Your Prophet, the Prophet of Mercy, Muhammad, (Peace and blessings of Allah be upon him and his family), and through Amir al-Muminin (Commander of the Faithful), Ali ibn Abi Talib, and Fatima al-Zahra, and Hasan and Hussain, Your two servants and two trusted ones, and Your two proofs over all creation.
وَعَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ زَیْنِ الْعَابِدِینَ، وَنُورِ الزّٰاهِدِینَ، وَوٰارِثِ عِلْمِ النَّبِیِّینَ وَالْمُرْسَلِینَ، وَاِمٰامِ الْخَاشِعِینَ، وَوَلِیِّ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ، وَالْقَائِمِ فیٖ خَلْقِكَ اَجْمَعِینَ، وَبٰاقِرِ عِلْمِ الْاَوَّلِینَ وَالْآخِرِینَ، وَالدَّلِیلِ عَلیٰ اَمْرِ النَّبِیِّینَ وَالْمُرْسَلِینَ، وَالْمُقْتَدیٖ بِآبٰائِهِ الصّٰالِحِینَ، وَکَهْفِ الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِینَ
And through Ali ibn al-Hussain Zayn al-Abidin, the light of the ascetic, the inheritor of the knowledge of Prophets and messengers, the leader of the humble, the guardian of believers, the one who rises up among all Your creations, and the splitter of the knowledge of the first and the last, the one who guides to the commands of prophets and messengers, the follower of his righteous ancestors, and the refuge of all Your creations.
وَجَعْفَرِ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ الصّٰادِقِ مِنْ اَوْلاٰدِ النَّبِیِّینَ، وَالْمُقْتَدیٖ بِاٰبَائِهِ الصّٰالِحِینَ، وَالْبٰارِّ مِنْ عِتْـرَتِهِ الْبَـرَرةِ الْمُتَّقِینَ، وَوَلِیِّ دِینِكَ، وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَی الْعَالَمِینَ، وَمُوسَی بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ الْعَبْدِ الصّٰالِحِ مِنْ اَهْلِ بَیْتِ الْمُرْسَلِینَ، وَلِسَانِكَ فیٖ خَلْقِكَ اَجْمَعِینَ، وَالنّٰاطِقِ بِاَمْرِكَ، وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلیٰ بَرِیَّتِكَ
And through Ja’far ibn Muhammad Al-Sadiq, a descendant of prophets, and the follower of his righteous ancestors, the doer of good from a pious righteous family, the guardian of Your religion, and Your proof over the worlds. And through Musa ibn Ja’far, the righteous servant from the family of messengers, and Your tongue among all Your creations, the speaker of Your command, and Your proof over Your creations.
وَعَلِیَّ بْنِ مُوسَی الرِّضَا الْمُرْتَضَی الزَّکِیِّ الْمُصْطَفَى الْمَخْصُوصِ بِکَرٰامَتِكَ وَالدّٰاعِی إِلیٰ طَاعَتِكَ، وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلَی الْخَلْقِ اَجْمَعِینَ
And through Ali ibn Musa al-Rida al-Murtaza, the pure, the chosen, the one specially honored by Your grace, the caller to Your obedience, and Your proof over all Your creations.
وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیِّ الرَّشِیدِ الْقَائِمِ بِاَمْرِكَ، النّٰاطِقِ بِحُکْمِكَ وَحَقِّكَ، وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلیٰ بَرِیَّتِكَ، وَوَلِیِّكَ وَابْنِ اَوْلِیٰائِكَ، وَحَبِیبِكَ وَابْنِ اَحِبّٰائِكَ، وَعَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمّدٍ السِّـرٰاجِ الـمُنِیرِ، وَالرُّکْنِ الْوَثِیقِ، الْقَائِمِ بِعَدْلِكَ، وَالدّٰاعِی إِلیٰ دِینِكَ وَدِینِ نَبِیِّكَ، وَحُجَّتِكَ عَلیٰ بَرِیَّتِكَ
And through Muhammad ibn Ali, the rightly guided, the executor of Your command, the speaker of Your decree and truth, Your proof over Your creations, Your wali (guardian) and the son of Your walis, Your beloved, and the son of Your beloved ones. And through Ali ibn Muhammad, the luminary of divine guidance, the firm foundation, the establisher of Your justice, the caller to Your religion and the religion of Your Prophet, and Your proof over Your creations.
وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ عَبْدِكَ وَوَلِیِّكَ، وَخَلِیفَتِكَ الْمُؤَدّیٖ عَنْكَ فیٖ خَلْقِكَ عَنْ اٰبٰائِهِ الصّٰادِقِینَ، وَبِحَقِّ خَلَفِ الْاَئـِمَّةِ الْمٰاضِینَ، وَالْاِمٰامِ الزَّکِیِّ الْهٰادِی الْمَهْدِیِّ، وَالْحُجَّةِ بَعْدَ اٰبٰائِهِ عَلیٰ خَلْقِكَ، وَالْمُوءَدّیٖ عَنْ نَبِیِّكَ، وَوٰارِثِ عِلْمِ الْمٰاضِینَ مِنَ الْوَصِیِّینَ، الْمَخْصُوصِ الدّٰاعِی إِلیٰ طَاعَتِكَ وَطَاعَةِ اٰبٰائِهِ الصّٰالِحِینَ
And through Hasan ibn Ali, Your servant, Your wali (guardian), and Your deputy, who acts on Your behalf among Your creations like his truthful fathers, and by the right of the successor to the past Imams, the pure, the guiding and the guided [Imam al-Mahdi], and the proof after his fathers over Your creations, who acts on behalf of Your Prophet, and the inheritor of the knowledge of the past successors, the one who has been chosen and calls to Your obedience and the obedience of his righteous ancestors.
یٰا مُحَمَّدُ یٰا اَبَا الْقٰاسِمٰاهُ، بِاَبیٖ اَنْتَ وَاُمّیٖ، إِلَی اللّٰهِ اَتَشَفَّعُ بِكَ، وَبِالْاَئِـمَّةِ مِنْ وُلْدِكَ، وَبِعَلِیٍّ اَمِیرِالْمُؤْمِنِینَ، وَفَاطِمَةَ، وَالْحَسَنِ، وَالْحُسَیْنِ، وَعَلِیِّ بْنِ الْحُسَیْنِ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ، وَجَعْفَرْ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَمُوسَی بْنِ جَعْفَرٍ، وَعَلِیِّ بْنِ مُوسیٰ، وَمُحَمَّدِ بْنِ عَلِیٍّ، وَعَلِیِّ بْنِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَالْحَسَنِ بْنِ عَلِیٍ، وَالْخَلَفِ الْقَائِمِ الْمُنْتَظَرِ، اَللّٰهُمَّ فَصَلِّ عَلَیْهِمْ وَعَلیٰ مَنِ اتَّبَعَهُمْ، وَصَلِّ عَلیٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلاٰةَ الْمُرْسَلِینَ وَالصِّدِّیقِینَ وَالصّٰالِحِینَ، صَلاٰةً لاٰیَقْدِرُ عَلیٰ اِحْصٰائِهٰا غَیْرُكَ
O Muhammad, O Abul-Qasim, may my parents be sacrificed for you!
I seek intercession from God through you, and through the Imams of your family, and Ali Amir al-Mu’minin (the Commander of the Faithful), and Fatima, and Hasan, and Hussain and Ali ibn al-Hussain, and Muhammad ibn Ali, and Ja’far ibn Muhammad, and Musa ibn Ja’far, and Ali ibn Musa, and Muhammad ibn Ali, and Ali ibn Muhammad, and Hasan ibn Ali, and Qaim, the awaited successor.
O Allah, send peace and blessings upon them and upon those who follow them, and send blessings upon Muhammad and the family of Muhammad with the blessings of the messengers, the truthful, and the righteous, a blessing none can count except You!
اَللّٰهُمَّ اَلْحِقْ اَهْلَ بَیْتِ نَبِیِّكَ وَذُرِّیَّتَهُمْ وَشِیعَتَهُمْ بِنَبِیِّكَ سَیِّدِ الْمُرْسَلِینَ، وَاَلْحِقْنٰا بِهِمْ مُؤْمِنِینَ مُخْبِتِینَ فَائِزِینَ، مُتَّقِینَ صَالِحِینَ، خَاشِعِینَ عَابِدِینَ، مُوَفَّقِینَ مُسَدَّدِینَ، عَامِلِینَ زَاکِینَ، مُزَکِّینَ تَائِبِینَ، سَاجِدِینَ رَاکِعِینَ، شَاکِرِینَ حَامِدِینَ، صَابِرِینَ مُحْتَسِبِینَ، مُنِیبِینَ مُصِیبِینَ
O Allah, unite the family of Your Prophet, his progeny, and their Shia with Your Prophet, the Master of the Messengers, and unite us with them as faithful, humble, triumphant, pious, righteous, submissive, devout, successful, guided, obedient, pure, purified, repentant, prostrating, bowing, grateful, praising, patient, steadfast, repenting, and rightly guided.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّیٖ اَتَوَلّیٰ وَلِیَّهُمْ، وَاَتَبَـرَّأُ اِلَیْكَ مِنْ عَدُوِّهِمْ، وَاَتَقَرَّبُ اِلَیْكَ بِحُبِّهِمْ وَمُوٰلاٰتِهِمْ وَمَوَدَّتِهِمْ وَطَاعَتِهِمْ، فَارْزُقْنِی بِهِمْ خَیْرَ الدُّنْیٰا وَالْآخِرَةِ، وَاصْـرِفْ عَنّیٖ بِهِمْ اَهْوٰالَ یَوْمِ الْقِیٰامَةِ
O Allah, I am the friend of their friends, and I hate their enemies for the sake of You, and I seek nearness to You through loving them, accepting their guardianship, following them, committed love for them, and obedience to them. So grant me, through them, the good of this world and the hereafter, and avert from me the horrors of the Day of Judgment.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّیٖ اُشْهِدُكَ بِاَنَّكَ اَنْتَ اللّٰهُ لاٰ اِلٰهَ اِلّٰا اَنْتَ، وَاَنَّ مُحَمَّداً وَعَلِیّاً وَزَوْجَتَهُ وَوَلَدَیْهِ عَبِیدُكَ وَاِمٰاؤُكَ، وَأَنْتَ وَلِیُّهُمْ فِی الدُّنْیٰا وَالْآخِرَةِ، وَهُمْ اَوْلِیٰاؤُكَ الْاَوْلَوْنَ بِالْمُؤْمِنِینَ وَالْمُؤْمِنٰاتِ، وَالْمُسْلِمِینَ وَالْمُسْلِمٰاتِ مِنْ بَرِیَّتِكَ، وَاَشْهَدُ اَنَّهُمْ عِبٰادُكَ الْمُؤْمِنُونَ، لاٰیَسْبِقُونَكَ بِالْقَوْلِ وَهُمْ بِاَمْرِكَ یَعْمَلُونَ
O Allah, I bear witness that You are Allah, there is no god but You, and that Muhammad, Ali, his wife, and his two sons are Your servants and Your slaves. You are their Guardian in this world and the hereafter, and they are Your friends that have guardianship over believing men and women, and Muslim men and women among Your creations. I bear witness that they are Your believing servants who do not venture to speak ahead of You, and act by Your command.
اَللّٰهُمَّ اِنّیٖ َاَتَوَسَّلُ اِلَیْكَ بِهِمْ، وَاَتَشَفَّعُ بِهِمْ اِلَیْكَ اَنْ تُحْیِیَنِی مَحْیٰاهُمْ، وَتُمِیتَنِی عَلیٰ طَاعَتِهِمْ وَمِلَّتِهِمْ وَتَـمْنَعَنِی مِنْ طَاعَةِ عَدُوِّهِمْ، وَتَـمْنَعَ عَدُوَّكَ وَعَدُوَّهُمْ مِنِّی، وَتُغْنِیَنِی بِكَ وَبِاَوْلِیٰائِكَ عَمَّنْ اَغْنَیْتَهُ عَنِّی، وَتُسَهِّلَنِی لِمَنْ اَحْوَجْتَهُمْ اِلَیَّ، وَتَجْعَلَنِی فیٖ حِفْظِكَ فِی الدِّینِ وَالدُّنْیٰا وَالْآخِرَةِ، وَتُلْبِسَنِی الْعَافِیَةَ حَتّٰى تُهَنِّئَنِی الْمَعِیشَةَ، وَالْحَظْنِی بِلَحْظَةٍ مِنْ لَحَظَاتِكَ الْکَرِیمَةِ الرَّحِیمَةِ الشَّـرِیفَةِ، تَکْشِفُ بِهٰا عَنِّی مٰا قَدِابْتَلَیْتُ بِهِ، وَدَبِّرْنِی بِهٰا إِلیٰ اَحْسَنِ عَادَاتِكَ وَاَجْمَلِهٰا عِنْدِی. فَقَدْ ضَعُفَتْ قُوَّتِی، وَقَلَّتْ حِیلَتِی، وَنَزَلَ بیٖ مٰا لاٰطَاقَةَ لیٖ بِهِ، فَرُدَّنِی إِلیٰ اَحْسَنِ عَادٰاتِكَ، فَقَدْ اٰیَسْتُ مِمّٰا عِنْدَ خَلْقِكَ، فَلَمْ یَبْقَ اِلّٰا رَجٰاؤُكَ فیٖ قَلْبِی، وَقَدِیماً مٰا مَنَنْتَ عَلَیَّ
O Allah, I seek nearness to You through them, and I seek Your intercession through them, so that You keep me alive to live like them, and take my life while I obey them and live as they lived; prevent me from obeying their enemies, and keep Your enemies and theirs away from me, and make me independent through You and Your friends from anyone that you have made independent of me, and make me a source of ease for those You have made dependent on me. And place me under Your protection in faith, in this world and in the hereafter.
Cover me with well-being to the extent that You make my life pleasant, and grant me a glance from Your noble, merciful, and majestic glances, through which You remove what has afflicted me. Direct me with it to the best of Your habits and the most beautiful in my sight. For my strength has weakened, my means have diminished, and I am burdened with what I cannot bear. Return me to the best of Your ways, for I despair of what lies with Your creation. Nothing remains but hope for You in my heart, and long have You bestowed favors upon me.
وَقُدْرَتُكَ یٰا سَیِّدِی وَرَبِّی وَخٰالِقِی وَمَوْلاٰیَ وَرٰازِقِی عَلیٰ اِذْهٰابِ مٰا اَنَا فِیهِ، کَقُدْرَتِكَ عَلَیَّ حَیْثُ ابْتَلَیْتَنِی بِهِ. اِلٰهیٖ ذِکْرُ عَوٰائِدِكَ یُؤْنِسُنِی، وَرَجَاءُ اِنْعَامِكَ یُقَرِّبُنِی، وَلَمْ اَخْلُ مِنْ نِعْمَتِكَ مُنْذُ خَلَقْتَنِی، فَاَنْتَ یٰا رَبِّ ثِقَتِی وَرَجٰائِی، وَاِلٰهیٖ وَسَیِّدِی وَالذّٰابُّ عَنِّی، وَالرّٰاحِمُ لیٖ، وَالْمُتَکَفِّلُ بِرِزْقِی
O my Master, O my Lord, O my Creator, O my Guardian, and my Sustainer, You have the power to change the bad situation I am in, just like when You had the power to afflict me. My God, remembrance of Your kindness makes me feel intimate with You, and hope in Your blessings draws me closer to You, and I have never been deprived of Your favor since You created me. You, O Lord, are my trust and hope, my God, my Master, my Protector, my Merciful, and the Guarantor of my sustenance.
فَاَسْاَلُكَ یٰارَبَّ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ اَنْ تَجْعَلَ رُشْدِی فیٖمٰا قَضَیْتَ مِنَ الْخَیْرِ وَحَتَمْتَهُ وَقَدَّرْتَهُ، وَاَنْ تَجْعَلَ خَلاٰصِی مِمّٰا اَنَا فِیهِ، فَاِنِّی لاٰاَقْدِرُ عَلیٰ ذٰلِكَ اِلّٰا بِكَ، وَحْدَكَ لاٰشَـرِیكَ لَكَ، وَلاٰ اَعْتَمِدُ فِیهِ اِلّٰا عَلَیْكَ، فَکُنْ یٰارَبَّ الْاَرْبٰابِ، وَیٰا سَیِّدَ السّٰادٰاتِ عِنْدَ حُسْنِ ظَنِّی بِكَ، وَاَعْطِنِی مَسْاَلَتِی
So I ask You, O Lord of Muhammad and his family, place my growth and perfection in what You have decreed, the good, the inevitable, and the destined that You have ordained; free me from my distress, for I cannot overcome it except through You, who are alone, with no partner. I rely only on You. So, O the Nurturer of nurturers and the Master of masters, as good as my hope in You, and grant me my request.
یٰا اَسْمَعَ السّٰامِعِینَ، وَیٰا اَبْصَـرَ النّٰاظِرِینَ، وَیٰا اَحْکَمَ الْحٰاکِمِینَ، وَیٰا اَسْـرَعَ الْحٰاسِبِینَ، وَیٰا اَقْدَرَ الْقٰادِرِینَ، وَیٰا اَقْهَرَ الْقٰاهِرِینَ، وَیٰا اَوَّلَ الْاَوَّلِینَ، وَیٰا اٰخِرَ الْاٰخِرِینَ، وَیٰا حَبِیبَ مُحَمَّدٍ وَعَلِیٍّ وَجَمِیعِ الْاَنْبِیٰاءِ وَالْمُرْسَلِینَ، وَالْاَوْصِیٰاءِ الْمَنْتَجَبِینَ، وَیٰا حَبِیبَ مُحَمَّدٍ صَلَّی اللّٰهُ عَلَیْهِ وَآلِهٖ وَاَوْصِیٰائِهِ، وَاَحِبّٰائِهِ وَاَنْصٰارِهِ، وَخُلَفٰائِهِ الْمُؤْمِنِینَ، وَحُجَجِكَ الْبٰالِغِینَ مِنْ اَهْلِ بَیْتِ الرَّحْمَةِ الْمُطَهَّرِینَ الزّٰاهِرِینَ اَجْمَعِینَ، صَلَّ عَلیٰ مُحَمَّدٍ وَآلِ مُحَمَّدٍ، وَافْعَلْ بیٖ مٰا اَنْتَ اَهْلُهُ یٰا اَرْحَمَ الرّٰاحِمِینَ
O All-Hearing of all who hear, O All-Seeing of all who see, O Wisest of all judges, O Swiftest of all reckoners, O Most Powerful of all who have power, O Most Dominant of all dominators, O First of all firsts, O Last of all lasts, O Beloved of Muhammad, Ali, all the prophets, messengers, and chosen successors! O Beloved of Muhammad, peace be upon him and his family, and his successors and his friends and companions and his faithful deputies and Your obvious proofs from the family of mercy, the pure and shining, all of them. Send blessings upon Muhammad and his family and do with me what You deserve, O Most Merciful of the Merciful.
